According to reports, The New Garden Shopping Center’s  Giant supermarket located in the 350 Scarlet Rd, Kennett Square, PA , now has got permission to sell liquor September.

An authorities from New Garden have now agreed to a request made by Giant Food Stores to obtain a license for selling beer and wine. This Giant stores total area is 63,000-square-foot.

Most significantly this would make it a very first grocery store in an area to get a license to sell beers and wines. However the Liquor Control Board has permitted licenses to hundreds of various grocery stores in Pennsylvania, as well as 59 Giant Food Stores.

Reports said that sales of liquor will be allowed Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.  there is a limit set on the purchase of these drinks as just two six packs of beer can be bought at a time, and wine sales will be restricted to just four bottles per visit.

Giant will get a permission to vend six and 12 packs of beer, to go with individual bottles such as 40-ounce or 24-ounce beers. Their licenses permit them to sell up to 192 fluid ounces of beer per buy. They may also sell up to four bottles of wine per purchase.

After plenty of talks, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania finally permitted that the store can sell liquor to in-house consumers as well as take-out.

Moreover the section that will sell beers and wines will be at the back of the store. The alcohol selling areas will have different entrance from the main supermarket.

These license will allow Giant to offer tables and seating for 30 customers to buy and drink beer with in the parameter. Food, like sandwiches, entrees and even a salad bar will be made available on the spot.

Staff in the Giant store will get proper training identify fake identification. Security cameras will also be installed in the area.
